Eggciting Assembly

Here are some photos from our Eggciting assembly this afternoon. We all wonder...what is in the egg?

Eggciting Egg Delivery

There as some exciting events that happened today. A large egg was delivered to our classroom, we have to take care of it by turning it every 2 hours. According to the note if we follow the directions, the egg should hatch on Thursday night!

Spelling bee

Every year at Wilson school a spelling bee is held for the top 4th and 5th graders in the school. Every 4th and 5th grade class determines their top spellers through classroom bees. The top 5 people in each class go to the spelling bee. The school spelling bee was held today for the whole school. It was very exciting and Natalie Musack, a fifth grader in Ms. Pichler's class, won the spelling bee. The runner up was Logan Rademan who also is a 5th grader in Ms.Pichler's class. Congrats to Natalie Musack, Logan Rademan, Alyssa Sanderson, Matthew Smith, and Anthony Taylor for an awesome job in the spelling bee. Natalie Musack will be competing in the district spelling bee at Hale High School on January 24th at 6:30PM.

Inquiry

In inquiry, Ms. Pichler's class is learning about energy. Last week we learned about electrical energy. This week we are learning about thermal energy. Every 4th and 5th grade class learned about one type of energy in their own class. So now every class is going to a different class to learn about a different type of energy. Today we baked apples using a solar oven. The experiment didn't work very well. After the experiment we ate the apples. They were delicious!

Exploring Electrical Energy

We have begun our inquiry on different forms of energy. We learned how circuits are built and the difference between insulators and conductors of electricity. Our final experiment included a test to determine if different liquids would conduct electricity and make a circuit work.

Holiday Celebration

Here are the gingerbread houses we created before our winter vacation. Enjoy the creativity of room 303!
